Expo Liberation Journal

Our area of study is segregation. Our community needs to mix people of color in schools because segregation needs to stop. Our community also needs to put rich and poor houses in every neighborhood because having rich houses will cause segregation. Our community should respect the different race in the United States because we should encourage the ones that are in poverty so they can have a better life. Our community will be more joyful if everyone gets along. We must get along with each other even if we don’t got the same race.

Expo Oppression Journal

Without this type of oppression people would feel unlike, would do anything to change their identity so they can be the same as others and not having others around oppression. When free from this form of oppression people will be happy and getting along with others and not having other types of segregation. Individuals will experience themselves without this type of oppression because every single person without the same skin color might get along in their own way.

My group area of study is segregation, segregation is people that decide that they shouldn't be near people who aren't the same color skin. Some different individuals that are being oppressed by. Some oppression is Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and other people with black skin that were discriminated. Some other individuals are Mexicans because they wanted mexicans to leave some states. And black people by not drinking, schools, ans buses.They wanted to make a point that everyone should and be treated equally as others that are liked. I think this is truly liberate because people have their own rights and opinions.

Expo reflection

I think that Expo was great because we new what to do and we practiced a little in class and that's why I think I did great.  I also think that it went great because we had a lot of opinions in our circle. Some deltas that I think we can improve is speaking in a loud voice so everyone can hear you in the circle, learn and practice my scrips, help my group when their stuck on something, have everyone in the circle say something even when they don't want to, help the people if their stuck on something or need help explaining ourselves. Other than that i think we did great on expo. 

COLLEGE FOR ALL:PATTY BARAJAS

A word that best describes my family is caring because they care that I need to make it to college. My community is very dangerous because there is a lot of shooting and killing in Oakland. In my school there is a lot of education, however it has violence around it. Some opportunities I have in my community are education, playing soccer, and spending time with good people and friends. One major is issue is the fear that my family is constantly in danger in the community we live in. I am afraid because of the violence and gangs in Oakland. I hear that so many people are being killed by so many gangs. I fear that something might happen to my family and they wont be able to support me. I like my community but i kind of afraid of it because every time i walk or go to a place i always hear an ambulance. That’s why i always fear around my community.  

Some aspirations or dreams I have are to go to college to help my parents with whatever they will need. I want to be a professional soccer player and hope to play on a college team. I also want to be a nurse so that I can help others be healthy and have a good life. In college I want to learn how little kids develop down syndrome and autism. I want to study about down syndrome and autism because my brother has syndrome and autism he got it when he was 6 months old. My family was very scared because we thought that he might die. But know we have him do different things to help him develop himself. When we walk him some people stare at him like if he was a stupid kid not being like others. I’m proud that my brother, i don’t care if people think bad of him. My mom hire these two people to help my brother in what he needs to improve on.I think that my brother will improve and move on because i belive in him.I chose this because I want to accomplish my dreams and to make my family proud in the future.

College means to me, having a great career. College relates to my family by everyone going to college and being successful in my life. College will connect to my family because we all need to be someone in our lives and I want to help my parents the way they helped me.

Living the life like a warrior
I COME TO SCHOOL EVERY SINGLE DAY WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE
i feel very proud of myself because i feel like a successful daughter to my parents
when it gets to soccer i try my best to make some goals, they tell me that i did well in making some goals
me, myself and i feel proud of myself like a true warrior
i try to step up  so i could become a good daughter, student, person, friend, cousin, granddaughter
and sister and last niece when i come sad some one brings my smile up 
and i feel like a bright person i giggle alot in school and at home because they make me laugh
i know I'm very loud but that's who iam so don't hate
I'm a true warrior
